How to add a photo template

You can add a new message template from WhatsApp manager. Please follow the steps below.

Access WhatsApp Manager​

  • Go to your configured WhatsApp setup page
    • Alternatively you can find this page by going to Admin > Plugin and selecting the WhatsApp plugin
  • Locate the "WhatsApp Numbers" section and click "View Template Messages" link
  • Please note this will redirect you to WhatsApp manager. So you will have to use your facebook credentials to login here if not already logged in. The facebook login should have access to your WhatsApp business account

Create a New Template​

  • Click Create Template button from the top right corner
  • This opens a template builder window
  • You can choose from 3 different template categories - Marketing, Utility, Authentication
  • For this example lets choose 'Marketing'
  • Under marketing choose the Custom option
  • Click Next button from the bottom right corner

Configure Template​

  • First name your template - no spaces are allowed and the name should be unique
  • Select the language for your template
  • Under Content section, choose 'Name' for Variable type
  • Configure Header
    • You can choose from many different types of header - text, image, video, ...
    • Lets choose Image for this example
    • Now you have to upload a sample image for this header. You can do that by clicking Choose JPG or PNG file
  • Configure Body
    • You can configure the text body of your message here
    • You can personalize the text by including template variables like {{name}}
    • Eg: Hi {{name}}, Please check out this beautifully crafted turquoise plate
    • Template variables are useful for personalizing your messages by providing hte right value while actually sending a template message
    • When you add a template variable, you will have to provide with a sample value for each variable
    • Lets provide the value "John" for the name variable
  • Footer
    • You can configure a footer text for your message
    • This component is optional
  • Buttons
    • You can add various types of buttons to your message
    • You can have link buttons or quick reply buttons
  • You can preview your template on the right sidebar of the builder page
  • After the configuration is complete, click "Submit for review"
  • Click "Confirm" on the confirmation modal
  • Wait until the template is approved

Test the template​

  • Go back to lead list on Chakra
  • Open any lead details page
  • Click the "Send Message" button from the top header
  • Choose message type as "WhatsApp"
  • Choose the WhatsApp plugin if not already selected
  • Select the from WhatsApp phone number
  • From message templates select the newly created template
  • Now you need to attach the actual image you want to send as part of this template
  • Map the lead attribute to the message template variable
  • Click Send Send a photo template message
