Setting up a WhatsApp Business API account is a multi-step process and requires some basic prerequisites to get started.
Here’s a quick checklist of essential must-haves to register for WhatsApp Business API on Chakra Chat.
ⓕ Facebook Business Manager Account
You must have a verified Facebook Business Manager account.
Ensure you have admin access to the Facebook Business Manager account to complete the setup
📞 Valid Phone Number
- A valid phone number
- If the phone number is linked to an existing WhatsApp account ⬇️
- If it’s linked to a WhatsApp Business app, use the WhatsApp Coexistence feature to register for the WhatsApp API
- If linked to a WhatsApp API number, use the Migration to Chakra Chat steps to register for WhatsApp API
- If linked to a WhatsApp Messenger (personal), delete the WhatsApp account to register for the WhatsApp API
🧳 Business Verification Details
- You would require documents and details like: Business Name, Address, Website, Business Category, etc
- Please note the Website or any online presence of the business with clear brand name, legal name etc is highlighted in the Website or similar online pages.
💳 Payment Method
- For Chakra Subscription
- Meta Charges (for template messages) in Facebook Business Billing & Payments
🆔 Tax ID / VAT / (GST - mandatory for India)
- With Chakra Chat, Meta charges for template messages (business-initiated) are to be paid separately, and directly to Meta
- Based on your local regulations, Meta may require a Tax ID to be added along with the payment method in the Facebook Business Billing & Payment section.
