How to start a new WhatsApp Chat in Chakra

You can initiate a new WhatsApp chat directly from the Chat interface in Chakra. Follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to the Chat section from the left sidebar
2. In the Chats list, find and select the user you want to message
3. Once the chat window is open, click on the '+' icon at the top of the chat
4. Click on the Start New WhatsApp Chat button (with the WhatsApp icon)
5. In the modal:
6. 1. Enter the Customer Phone Number
   2. (Optional) Toggle Start chat for a process instead? if applicable
   3. Under Select Plugin, choose the WhatsApp integration
   4. Select the From Phone Number (WABA number to send from)
   5. Choose a Message Template from the available list
6. Click Start Chat to send the templated message
7. This will create a new message in the Chat List
8. The conversation will open ONLY once the customer messages on the number

ℹ️ Make sure WhatsApp is properly integrated and the user has a valid phone number

⚠️ Note: You can only start a new chat using a pre-approved WhatsApp message template. You won’t be able to send free text messages unless the customer responds.
