Convert WhatsApp Business API Number to WhatsApp CoExistence
Converting an existing WhatsApp API number to WhatsApp Coexistence is possible, but involves several steps and can take 4–7 days. During this period, the number may not be connected to the WhatsApp API.
We can assist with connecting your existing WhatsApp Business API number to Chakra using Coexistence mode. Because the number is currently linked to another provider, this requires a specific migration process. Please allow a few days — typically up to one week — for the number to be ready, as it must go through a mandatory warm-up period after being re-registered.
Phase 1 — Disconnection
Contact your current provider and request that they completely disconnect and unlink your number from the WhatsApp Business Platform. Once this is done, the number should be free from any API connections.
Phase 2 — Registration & Warm-up
Step 1: Register the number
Download the official WhatsApp Business app and register your number. You can follow the official instructions here:

Step 2: Establish usage history
Use the app actively for 4–7 days to establish normal business activity. We recommend:
- Sending messages to at least 7–10 different contacts
- Replying to incoming messages from those contacts
- Maintaining regular activity throughout the warm-up period
Note: This warm-up period is a WhatsApp requirement and cannot be skipped.
Phase 3 — Re-Connection to Chakra
Once the number has been active in the WhatsApp Business app for several days, you can proceed with the Coexistence connection inside Chakra:

Troubleshooting: WhatsApp Business Account Restricted
While registering your number in Chakra WhatsApp Business API Solution, you encounter an error during the enter your phone number step: "You cannot proceed with this operation since your WhatsApp Business account is currently restricted. To continue, select a different WhatsApp Business account or visit Business Support Home to resolve any issues with your account."
