Creating message templates is essential for reaching out to customers beyond the 24-hour session window. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you add a new WhatsApp message template directly via WhatsApp Manager.


๐Ÿงฑ How to create a new Message Template?โ€‹

๐Ÿ”‘ Step 1: Access WhatsApp Managerโ€‹

  • Navigate to your configured WhatsApp setup page
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Or go directly to Admin > Plugin and select the WhatsApp plugin.
  • Under WhatsApp Numbers, click the "View Template Messages" link.
  • Youโ€™ll be redirected to WhatsApp Manager (Facebook login required).
    • Make sure your Facebook account has access to your WhatsApp Business Account.

๐Ÿงฑ Step 2: Create a new Templateโ€‹

  • Click the Create Template button (top-right corner).
  • The template builder window opens.
  • Choose from 3 categories:
    • Marketing
    • Utility
    • Authentication
  • For this example, select Marketing > Custom.
  • Click the Next button to proceed.

  • Enter a unique name (no spaces allowed).
  • Select your preferred language.

๐Ÿงฉ Content Variablesโ€‹

  • Under Content, choose the Variable Type as Name.

๐Ÿงพ Header (Optional)โ€‹

  • Choose a header type: text, image, video, etc.
  • For this guide, select Text.
  • Enter your header text.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Bodyโ€‹

  • Compose your message content.

  • Use variables for personalization:

    Example: Hi {{name}}, We haven't heard back from you in a while. Please check out our new Summer catalogue at our store.

  • Add sample values for each variable
    Example: {{name}} = John

  • Add a footer text if needed.
