Create A Message Template
To create new message templates, currently you have to access the "Create Template" functionality directly from WhatsApp manager. Native support on ChakraHQ is under development and will be added soon.
What are WhatsApp Message Templates?
WhatsApp message templates are pre-defined messages that businesses can use to send notifications or updates to customers. These templates ensure consistency in communication, save time, and comply with WhatsApp’s guidelines by allowing businesses to send messages that have been pre-approved. They are especially useful for transactional messages, reminders, and customer support interactions.
Step 1: Access WhatsApp Manager
You can Click "💬 View Message Templates" from your WhatsApp plugin page next to your configured phone number. Or you can access WhatsApp manager from Facebook Business
- Go to the Facebook Business website.
- Log in with your business account credentials.
- Navigate to the “WhatsApp” section in the left sidebar.
Step 2: Navigate to Message Templates
Once you are in the WhatsApp Manager:
- Click on “Message Templates” under the WhatsApp section.
- Here, you will see an option to create a new template.
Step 3: Create a New Template
To create a new template:

Select Template Type: Choose from categories such as “Marketing” or “Utility,” depending on your business needs, select the appropriate type. Marketing templates are useful for sending promotional material to your customers while utility templates should be used to send notifications like order updates or lifecycle updates.

Fill in Template Details:
- Template Name: Give your template a unique name for easy identification.
- Language: Select the language for your template.
- Content: Write the message content. Templates must follow a specific structure:

to indicate placeholders for dynamic content (like customer names or order numbers). For example:Hello {name}, your order {order_number} has been shipped.

Preview Your Template: Before submitting, preview your template to ensure it looks good and flows well.
Step 4: Submit for Approval
After creating the template:

Submit for Review: Click on the submit button to send your template for approval. WhatsApp reviews each template to ensure it meets their guidelines, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of days.

Check Approval Status: You can check the status of your submission in the WhatsApp Manager. Approved templates will be available for use, while rejected ones will include feedback for necessary adjustments.
